Building your own house is very rewarding and can save you a lot of money, but is very time consuming and hard when you have a full time job and 4 kids. Even though we aren't doing everything, we are doing enough to keep us completly busy in our spare time. We did all the concrete and framing except for the trusses. Luckily we had help from family and from a nice 70 year old guy who lives down the street. For his age, he is in great shape and helped us alot, and gave good advice. We will be forever indebted to Brother Anderson, but he says he needs to thank us for giving him something to do and an oppurtunity to serve. He would come over and say what can I do to help and we would say we are doing ok. He would just start working, and we learned that he knew what he was doing and that he sincerely wanted to help. so we let him, and we are thankful!

Here is the wall that me and my sister in law Tia built and stood all by ourselves. All 9 boards of it. Best looking wall in the house :)

We love the area where we are building. It is so pretty and peaceful, but still only 5-10 minutes from town.
